“I have always had the idea of living beautifully,” fashion designer Valentino Garavani told André Leon Talley in the preface to his new lifestyle book, The Emperor’s Table. Well, if anyone lives a really good life, it’s him – as evidenced by a series of stunning photographs from his homes around the world, including London, New York, an estate near Paris, a ski chalet in Gstaad, and his yacht, which, let’s not forget, is featured in the book.
In addition to photos of his home, the book is filled with his favorite recipes, as well as his tips for proper table setting (unfortunately, most of us don’t have a china collection much like his, but we can dream).
Trust us – this is porn design at its best. Valentino, if you’re reading this, we’re trying to get an invitation to dinner. Just post it there.

“When I saw the first page of the book, I thought, oh my god, I’ve collected so many things that people might think I’m showing off,” Valentino told Style.com. “But I use these things all the time, even when I’m alone. I like to take things and put them on the table, for me it’s a joy.
